Taking stubborness to a whole new level....

Most people would be glad that it's a Friday today... NOT me though!!! This is one Friday that'll remain etched in my memory... Today is where I 'witnessed the 'death' of rationalism and logical thinking. What ever happened to sensible arguing??? It is understandable that we all have our egos. However, to blatantly ignore facts... That's something just outright idiotic!!!

And the one person to inflict this mind numbing display of stupidity is none other than PuddyCat. This time, she was arguing with me about some moronic manager, P_Moron who's taking her for a ride. And in that little head of hers is this false sense of believe that P_Moron was helping her resolve a problem which she recently encountered at work.

In a nutshell... The Backup team was complaining that a backup job on a server that is managed by PuddyCat was slow... Technically... It would be right for PuddyCat to first seek to understand the issue from a server platform perspective... After all, that is her area of 'expertise'. What did not sit well with me was that she related the incident to me and expected me to sympatise with her predicament...

And when I did NOT show any empathy towards her problem... She literally just shut her ears to all form of other reasoning or advice. Her problem began when she started fiddling with her servers after P_Moron told her that the issue was with the server rather than the network.

First and foremost... The backup jobs in our environment is done across the network. When the backup is slow... It would be anybody's first guess that it could be a network related issue that's causing the problem. In spite of my vehement justification that she should start by checking with the Network team regarding the speed of the port of the switch in which her server was connected to, she remained unperturbed and adamant that it was her responsibility to fix the problem from the server end...

What pissed me off the most was how she could quickly switch 'sides' from criticising the Managers to 'empathising' with their difficulties in holding the customer facing role... In the end, it was just down to her cowardness to stand up for herself. Not an issue for me though...

Do NOT say things to others in hope that you will hear what you WANT to hear!!! If you can't stomach the comments... Don't seek opinions!!!
